The book is an introduction to the nature and development of financial accounting theory. While the bbok was designed as an introductory text in financial accounting theory. It is structured to facilitate its use as a supplementary text in other financial accounting courses. It does not contain undue reference to institutional or professional matters which would limid its usefulness in a geographical sense. The book considers the nature of theory in general and accounting theory in particural, and traces the development of accounting and accounting theory from the days of pacilli to the present day.
